January 8th, 2009 photoshop again

  • I think I have the resolution thing now but, I am trying to find the burn tool, but it doesn't appear in the tool bar.
I see the one to dodge with but not burn, is it hidden somewhere?
I am trying to get the effect of a photo within an almost black surround, maybe a heart shape or oval.
Is there a filter or is burning the best way?
    Thanks again for the help

  • mykill
Thanks for the reply and the correct answer.
However next time don't be so quick to assume I didn't check my help file, I did, and it said nothing about right clicking, all it showed was the symbol for Burn and dodge. I have found out now that it holds the last one used.
Again thanks for the help, and I will always be sure to search and check 1st

  • sorry if i came off like that i was just trying to say there is a lot of helpful info in there

  • right click the dodge tool and it will give you three options burn tool is one of htem.....

it is in the help manual....read it first for help

  • Another way to achieve that burn effect is to create a layer on top of your photo and use the paint brush with black. This way you can easily edit your burn by erasing some of it or playing with the opacity levels.
